Northwestern Medical Journal is an international, peer-reviewed, open access journal. Northwestern Medical Journal is published quarterly in January, April, July and October by Izzet Baysal Training and Research Hospital since 2021.

Northwestern Medical Journal aims to publish research articles, reviews, case reports, and letters to the editor that contribute to the fields of surgery, clinical and basic medical sciences.

The publication language of the Journal is English.

Northwestern Medical Journal is indexed in TR Index, Index Copernicus, and J-Gate.

Aim & Scope

Northwestern Medical Journal is an international, peer-reviewed, open access journal. Northwestern Medical Journal is published by Izzet Baysal Training and Research Hospital since 2021. This journal is published to enhance sharing contemporary data on health sciences including medicine, dentistry, nursing, and other related disciplines. In this manner, the journal facilitates development of connections and network between all health sciences.

Northwestern Medical Journal aims to publish research articles, reviews, case reports, editorial short notes and letters to the editor that contribute to the fields of surgery, clinical and basic medical sciences.

Publication Frequency

Northwestern Medical Journal is published quarterly. The issues are published in January, April, July and October.

Special issues and their scope are announced one year before the publication by the Editorial Board.

Publication Language

The publication language of Northwestern Medical Journal is English. Manuscripts can be submitted in English only. The submitted manuscript should comply with the grammar and spelling rules, and the relevant scientific literature.

Northwestern Medical Journal is an open access journal. All articles are published under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY) which permits unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium or format, provided the original work is properly cited. Authors retain copyright of their published article. By this means open access ensures more reuse and citation, higher visibility and discoverability, greater engagement, immediate impact, increased interdisciplinary work and wider collaboration.

Northwestern Medical Journal adopts the Open Access Declaration published by Budapest Open Access Initiative in Feb, 2002.

“By ‘open access’ to this [research] literature, we mean its free availability on the public internet, permitting any users to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of these articles, crawl them for indexing, pass them as data to software, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without financial, legal, or technical barriers other than those inseparable from gaining access to the internet itself. Northwestern Medical Journal is funded by the İzzet Baysal Training and Research Hospital, depending on the revolving funds. Financial resources gained through sponsorship are utilized for publishing and editorial processes only.
